Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got several bug bites on Monday and my right leg swelled a great deal, plus the right leg was warm. I went to family doctor and she gave me steroids and antibiotics. Swelling has gone done some, but right leg is still pretty swollen. How long should I wait for swelling to go down before I become concerned.
Antibiotics will start acting within 48 hours. Since you notice that the swelling is going down, it means the treatment is effective. Please continue antibiotics and steroid as prescribed and the swelling will significantly decrease in 7 to 8 days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Lekshmi Rita Venugopal
