Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 3 year old son has what appear to be 3 canker sore areas in his mouth. a cluster on the inside of his left cheek, 1 by the gum line on his lower lip and a tiny one on the tip of his tongue. also he says his tummy hurts. he had a mild fever a few days ago. any thoughts?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain sores in the mouth of your toddler can be due to causes like canker sores while can also be due to Herpes Virus Infection causing cold sores leading to Herpetic Gingivostomatitis..
I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician or a Pedodontist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise investigations like oral swab culture to confirm the diagnosis and will be treated accordingly..
In case of canker sores application of numbing gel to relieve pain, cool compresses and vitamin B complex can help.. In case of viral infection antiviral medication like Acyclovir can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
