Suggest Remedies For Chronic Diarrhea And Poor Appetite

i have been suffering with chronic diarrhea for the past 6 weeks and loss of appetite. I have lost 10 pounds in the past 2 months and this is not something I can afford. I am 5 8 tall and now weigh 124 pounds. Nothing in my diet has changed except taking Inderal for tremors. My neurologist said this shouldn t have any effect on my diet or weight. Can you just come down with Celiac disease as you grow older? Or could it be a possible bowel blockage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that it is Diarrhoea type IBS. No question of Bowel blockage.

Celiac disease may occur at this age but I don't suspect that. You can have a gluten allergy test to exclude that.

In IBS Rifaximine would be very useful. And maintain your hydration with ORS.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
