General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Congrats on discontinuing smoking.

To treat the constipation you should consider: (1)fluids, fluids and more fluids. This would not include an caffeine or alcohol fluids because these cause the body to lose fluids (act as a diuretic)

(2)fiber supplement. Though dietary fiber is important, it would be best to add a fiber supplement such as metamucil, cetrucil or benefiber as well for extra fiber

Also add prunes to your diet.

(3)use another dose of a laxative such as ducolax

I hope this helps
