Suggest Remedies For Constipation

My question is what is the best way to deal with constipation. I have been to the dr for this and all the have suggested is polyethylene for it. I have tried that and it doesn t work to well. I have to tak laxatives and stool softners every day or so just to go. I am a mom with 3 kids so I m pretty busy with kids school and sports. So there r sometimes that I don t go for almost a week fearing that I may spend the whole time in the bathroom or not making it in time. Please if you have any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there

Please do try the following as well:
1 Increase your water intake. Green tea also helps with constipation.
2 Add more fresh fruit and vegetables into your diet.
3. Add a probiotic supplement to your daily routine eg LP299v or Probiflora
4. Try and increase your activity. Exercising helps promote bowel movements.
5. If you are currently taking any medication, review these with your doctor to rule out constipation as a side effect.

Hope this helps
