Suggest Remedies For Dry Mouth And Sore Tongue While On Hydroxyurea
Hi I ve been taking hydroxyurea for very elevated platelet counts-I ve hot tongue sores and very dry mouth as side effects. Are these common and are there any alternative medications? I had tried anegrlyide but experienced significant fatigue. Thanks.m
You have dry mouth and sore tongue while on Hydroxyurea which is known as medication realted Xerostomia. Need not to worry. Apply numbing gel on the tongue, and you can use lignocaine patches if the pain is there. You should take plenty of fluids and avoid fried food. You should use saliva substitute as it will enhance secretions of saliva and try to breathe from the nose instead of the mouth. You should chew sugar-free gum. Visit your general physician once as well and get the complete examination done and go for an alternative course of medication.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
