Suggest Remedies For Excessive Phlegm In The Throat
I have what seems to be an excecive amount of phlegm in my throat. Cannot clear it out. At times somewhat difficult to swallow saliva but no problem swallowing liquids or solids. Using Musinex decongestant and Flonase and singular. Some nasal stuffiness but not an issue. Limited to what mess I can take because of multiple heart issues. I m 68 year old male.
Phlegm in throat is mostly caused by post nasal discharge. I will recommend you steam inhalation, warm fluids, along with antihistaminics. Also, a course of antibiotics like amoxiclav will help. Continue with Mucinex and Flonase. Avoid smoking if you smoke. ENT consultation is recommended.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Akash Kumar
