Suggest Remedies For Extreme Phobia For Wind In A Toddler

My four year old son has become terrified of the wind. He wants to stay inside all the time. If we are outside he watches the trees. The first sight of the leaves blowing and he starts shaking, heart racing, and panic overcomes him. I m not sure what approach to take to this fear

Psychologist 's  Response
Hello,

The first sight of the leaves blowing and he starts shaking, heart racing, and panic overcomes him. That is fine. What happens after that? What is behavior after the panic response?

That is more important than the panic itself. Children are very fast in learning.

They will learn many things even though those are phobic. The only approach you should take is never frightened your child that what he is experiencing is panic and panic may be dangerous.

Therefore I suggest consulting a psychologist for physical examination, diagnosis and treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
