Suggest Remedies For Facial Pain Post Intake Of Amoxicillin For Toothache

i have had severe tooth pain for several weeks. My dentist didn't see anything wrong with my xrays, but prescribed me amoxicillin. My whole left side of my face hurts. It started to feel a little better when I was taking mucinex (someone suggested it may be sinus related because I have also have been stuffed up), but now the pain is back worse than ever.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I am sorry to hear about your problem and will try me level best to solve it to the best of my knowledge and experience...

As per your complain in case if you had severe pain in tooth and the entire left side of face hurts along with stuffiness, and there is nothing visible in your dental x rays then the most probable cause can be sinus infection or sinusitis..

But in case if you have pain in a single tooth and you can very well locate the tooth then it can be probably a dental pain and at times small fractures are not visible easily in x rays and multiple x rays ae needed to be taken from varying angulations..

So I would suggest you to consult an Oral Surgeon or an ENT expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and investigations like x ray of the tooth from different angulations amd PNS view x ray or MRI scan of sinuses can help in excluding the other causes and ruling out the exact cause and will be treated accordingly..

As of now you can take Ibuprofen to relieve pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
