Suggest Remedies For Fatigue While On Medication For Thyroid
I m currently taking Levothyroxine 0.3 MG and liothyronine 25 mcg and I still feel tired and or fatigued. is it ok to take Selenium with these? what other supplements would be good to take to help with fatigued or to help hypothyroidism? Is it really necessary to take liothyronine with levothyroxine? and what do you think about Armour thyroid?
It is possible that your medication dosage is inadequate. I suggest you undergo a repeat of your thyroid profile. An elevated TSH level would suggest that your medication is inadequate.
This would result in you still feeling tired. Liothyronine is a supplement for T3 and levothyroxine for T4, which are the two forms of the thyroid hormone. They are synthetically prepared.
I would advise you to stay with these medications, but with a dosage adjustment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Pranav Balakrishnan, General & Family Physician
