Suggest Remedies For Fluid Accumulation In The Ears
I had a bad cold and my right ear plugged up. It has the feeling of fullness for over a week. Cold is gone. I feel fine other than fullness in ear and a feeling like it needs to pop. My doctor looked at it yesterday and said I have fluid in ears but no ear infection. I am nursing so what can I safely take to get rid of this problem?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of fluid accumulation in the ears which is because of ear infection and sometimes infection remain persistent and gives symptoms of ear pain and otitis media. It could be due to eustachiantube dysfunction.
Need not to worry. You should apply warm dry compresses to external ear. Do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine your ear with otoscope and may prescribe antibiotics ( amoxicillin) at least for 10 days along with anti inflammatory medications. Avoid inserting sharp instrument in ear canal and maintain complete cleanliness.
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
