Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I accidentally swallowed the upper part of pen's cap. It was just the size of a small tablet. I think the plastic thing is stuck in my tongue. I have no idea what to do.. Meanwhile I am just being a little nervous and I have no problem in swallowing or chewing except of that stucked feeling. I think my stomach is aching a little and I might be having a acidity but again I feel that Its all in my head..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain there is very little to no possibility for something of being struck on the tongue as if that would be the case then it would have been severely painful and cause difficulty in swallowing..
And if it was of the side of a tablet it would be visible on the tongue..
It seems to be more of a psychological issue of having the feeling of something stuck on the tongue.. I would still suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical examination of your tongue deep near the throat too so that any complication that can occur due to aspiration of the foreign body can be avoided and your fear will also be overcome..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
