Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I swallowed too big of a bite of my sandwich two days ago, rushing out the door. It was very uncomfortable going down. Now my throat feels sore when I try to swallow food or drink. No pain anywhere other than my throat when swallowing and it just fells crampy. Should I be worried?
As per your complain pain in throat after eating a very big bite of sandwich might have caused laceration of the throat mucosa causing pain while swallowing. Nothing to worry as it seems to be due to inflammation and will resolve soon. As of now you can take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen to relieve pain and discomfort. You can drink plenty of cool water and take a soft diet. Avoid spicy, hard and hot foods. In case if it does not improve consult an ENT physician and get evaluated.
Hope this information helps. I will be happy to help if you have further queries.
Thanks and regards, Dr. Honey Nandwani Arora
