I have rheumatoid arthritis and type 2 diabetes. I am on 2 metformin 500 mg per day for diabetes, 1 injection of methotrexate (60) per week. X 500 mg calcium carbonate per day and2000 UI VITAMIN D.1 200mg Celebrex per day as well as folic acid 2 mg per day. I also take 187 mg of venal faxing daily. My question is that I always smell an awful door from my skin and yet no one else can smell it. Everyone thinks I am crazy! My urine also has a strong smell. I have not asked anyone if they notice a urine smell. They will commit me for sure. Can you help me, Doctor. Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have foul body odour, with history of diabetes and RA which is because lots of hormonal changes that would occur in the body. Prolactin, FSH, LH etc are hormones that undergo variety of changes or sweat gland or apocrine glands.

The symptoms can also occur as side effects of certain medicine you are taking for diabetes and RA , so also consult doctor who prescribed it .Avoid greasy creams ,use water based products.

If bad odor still persists consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe deodorants antiperspirants contain aluminum chloride. Also maintain personal hygiene. Sometimes bad odor occur due to apocrine glands .

Doctor may also prescribe antibiotics for bacterial infection which can also cause bad odor . For now maintain personal hygiene .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get well Soon.
