Suggest Remedies For Hiatal Hernia And Ulcers In The Stomach
My husband has pain in his stomach and hardening of the stomach. Super uncomfortable! He had cat scan, blood work, endoscopy and colonoscopy all come back negative. In the procedures the did find a hiatal hernia and minor ulcers. Biopsies all came back negative. We r at a loss with what test to do now? He is still in pain and knows something is wrong. What do u recommend to fix ulcers and hernia and next step?
I have gone through the medical history of your husband and understood your problem.
If you can send to me all the medical reports you have it would be great. I need to know the dimensions of the hiatal hernia and see the minor ulcers in the stomach. Send to me all of what you have. Also, I need to know how long has your husband been in such a pain?
Pain is an indication which means that the hernia is strangulated or obstructed and surgery is needed in these cases to fix the hernia.
Severe pain in chest or stomach, nausea or vomiting and lack of bowel movements are important symptoms that need proper care as fast as possible.
New radiologic exam is needed to see the hernia condition. A CT-scan or even a simple abdominal X-ray can give enough information. Surgical treatment can be suggested for hernia depending on dimesions and problems it has been causing.
Treatment of stomach ulcers include proton-pump inhibitor drugs, ranitidine and antacids to stabilize pH of the stomach liquid.
Diet changes are also very important: - avoid chilly/spicy/oily/fried foods - have your meals regularly, do not skip any - have 5 small meals daily - chew up slowly - increase fluids intake
Hope this helps! Dr.Albana
