General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would say to wait another day or two. Generally, when a new antibiotic is started it may take 2-3 days to give an effect. Because it is only one day that your son is started on the new antibiotic it is best to just give it time while he is under good supervision of the doctor. Fluids are important so he does not get dehydrated in the mean time.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
