Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I hav eds which causes me regular dislocations in my hips I am currently unable to walk without crutches and was wondering if a hip brace would make things easier I wanted to consult a doctor first due to the fact that I don t want to make things worse by wearing one
* As per my surgical experience, there can be a fibromuscular disorder with secondary impacts over the joint stability leading to recurrent hip dislocation in your case.
* A brace would be supportive care, rather I would suggest undergoing a definite evaluation with series of lab tests, biomolecular assays of collagen and other parameters with MRI hip to find out the root cause and manage in accordance to that only.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
