General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Thanks for your question, I'm glad to help.

Such chronic diarrhea in a diabetic patient can be treated with medications and dietary adjustments. Drugs which would be of help include antidiarrheals such as lomotil or immodium, bulk-forming laxatives such as metanucil. Antispasmodic drugs such as hyoscine are necessary to relieve the abdominal cramps you may feel

Dietary adjustments including ingesting high-fiber foods such as broccoli, peas, and beans would help reduce the frequency of stooling and make the stools more formed.

I hope I have answers your question. Please get back to me if you have more questions.

Thank you

Best wishes.
