Suggest Remedies For Inflammation And Burning Sensation In Rectum Post Bowel Movement

Hi. After I poop my rectum becomes inflamed. Not while I poop, but during the cleanup process. The next time I urinate if some urine dribbles down to my rectum it stings like OMG!! So I gently wipe my bottom to remove any urine and besides my rectum being sore, the toilet paper comes away with a tinge of blood. Any suggestions?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Possible fissure in ano may be the prime concern for inflammation and burning sensation in rectum post bowel movement. Most helpful measures for best recovery:
- Plenty of liquids
- High fiber diet
- Bulk forming laxative as lactulose for loose stool
- Avoid spices, non veg, junk foods
- Sitz bath (sitting in a tub filled with lukewarm water)
- Local application of xylocain (5%) ointment or jelly over anal part
- Analgesic tablets as ibuprofen with paracetamol. Consult your surgeon as per the need.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
