General & Family Physician 's  Response
A sting or bite of insect injects venom composed of proteins and other substances that may trigger an allergic reaction. The sting also causes redness and swelling at the site of the sting.
Mostly, it is insect bite which you have not noticed because insects usually bite on exposed part of body such outer aspect of arm and face.
