Hello, about a week ago I was on medication for bacterial vaginosis and it went away, but I noticed I was still itchy only on the labia I checked, and it looks like I have a small little white dots that looks like a little rash, do you know what this can be ??

Hi,

Bacterial vaginosis & it's treatment with antibiotic... both lead to disturbance of normal bacterial flora in the genital area. This helps the growth of fungus normally recoding in the genital passage, but it's growth being prevented by protective bacterial flora in the genital area (lactobacilli). All of this causes itching in labia after bacterial vaginosis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
