Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 40 year old son had a laprascopic appendectomy 14 days ago. He has been having a terrible time having a bowel movement, even though he takes stool softner. He also says that when he urinates, the urine comes to the end of his penis and it he had to push hard to force it out. When the urine comes out it burns. I have had him to the emergecy room. They say he has a hematoma across his abdoman but see no leakage. The ER doctor gave him pyrithim for the kidneys but it isn t working. The surgeon is out of town. My son seems to be in so much pain, he is hyper! He doesn t lay down during the day and is up and down all night. He moans in pain when he goes to the bathroom. Do you have any idea what is going on? He is 5 11 and weighs 190 pounds. He has never had any medical problems before and does not drink alcohol.
