Suggest Remedies For Pain In Collarbone Radiating To Elbow And Fingers

56 yr old, female, 5 1 , 196 pounds, fibromyalgia, collarbone area pain last two days, radiates down to my left elbow and middle finger on my left hand. Extremely tired but just started a new job so that is understandable. My father had his first heart attack at 44, my younger brother had quad-bipass at 42. Just don t want to worry unnecessarily but also don t want to ignore this.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain in collar bone with radiation to elbow and fingers at the age of 56 years may suggest cardiac disturbances of some sort in many cases, though non specific pain must also be ruled out. There is strong family history of cardiac issues at middle age and hence you must get work up with EKG at doc office and get treated accordingly only.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
