Suggest Remedies For Pain In Eyes After Working In The Sun

I had retinal detachment over 18 years ago but was never told to protect against sun. Recently, I ve noticed that the area where it was laser-ed, it aches a little if doing yard work in the sun. Should I be concerned? BTW, I forgot to wear sunglasses.
