Suggest Remedies For Painful Periods And Weight Gain After Thyroid Removal
Hi. I am a 40 year old mother of two, 20 and 13. I had my thyroid removed December 1012, and in October of that same year I had to have pollups removed from my uterus. After which I had the worse periods of my life. I would bleed so heavy, and the pain was excruciating. My doctor had me on Ortho-Novum birth control pills, but I was in so much pain. He then changed me to the Depo shot. I have gone from 157-160 to 187 lb. Would the birth control patch or going back to my pills be a better choice? I m tired of gaining weight. What should I do?
Dear , the most common side effect of Depo shot is weight gain . It will be better to go back to birth control pills which has less side effect for weight gain. You will need to do diet modification and exercise in order to imcrease the metabolism and avoid more weight loss. The pill is a daily treatment vs the shot that has longer effect.
