Suggest Remedies For Painful Swelling On The Knee Post An Injury
Hello today I hit my knee on a medal part of a boxing ring and was very pain full It started to get swollen and still is I been icing it down it helped a little but is still swollen hurts alot when I try to walk and feels locked what can I do. And can it be broken or just hurt with very bad pain. please help
It is possible that there is a fracture/break if it was struck very hard. An xray would be needed to rule out this possibility.
Severe trauma to soft tissue can cause intense pain as well but this should only be considered after ruling doing an x ray.
Treatment of these types of injuries , if there is no fracture ,normally involves: (1) rest, (2)application of ice compresses to the area, 2 to 3 times a day for approximately 20 mins (3)protection the affected area from further injury (4)compression bandage if there is swelling (5)elevation to help reduce the swelling (6)medication such as naproxen, ibuprofen, voltaren, cataflam
I hope this helps
