Suggest Remedies For Persistent Dry Cough And Extreme Fatigue

I am a 60 yr old woman. I have had relatively good heath and other than a multivitamin I am not on any medications. However, since labor day(I had a bad cold, first one in years), I have had a deep dry type cough. I have been on 2 rounds of antibiotics and oral steroids. I cough so hard at times it is difficult to catch my breath. It is as if I have a deep tickle. Chest xrays reveal clear lungs. The doctor said it will just hang on for awhile. What is normal? No fever, just fatigue. I am about 12 lbs overweight. walk regularly.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I can suggest you do spirometry to check the lung function and capacity. SPOC is possible. You need to be examined by a pneumologyst.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
