Suggest Remedies For Persistent Feeling Of Burning Chest And Lump In The Throat
Hi I am 22. I have been feeling a chest burn X 2 years. Recently I ve been feeling a lump on my throat x 2 months, sometimes it s hard to swallow and I feel as if there s food stuck in my throat . I m a female and I have missed my period for two months now. I m nervous it might be cancer or a thyroid problem. What do you recommend I should do or see?
Heart burn is most often due to related to reflux of acid, which may also cause difficulty swallowing. The thyroid would normally be significantly enlarged to cause difficulty swallowing though it may still be contributing to the irregular periods. If the amount of hormone released is abnormal.
It can be small and affect the period but not swallowing. Cancer is rare at your age though it can occur. It would be the last thing considered unless there are other alarm symptoms. It would be best to see your doctor for an assessment. The initial doctor should be your GP who can assess you and determine if you need a referral and who would be the best person to see you.
I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
