Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband was just discharged from our local hospital. He went in because of a high fever for 4 days the fever would spike up to 104 degrees at night. The hospital did test: cat scan, spinal tap, blood test, chest X-rays, they are waiting on rocky mountain spotted fever test to come back. They ruled out many things, and just told us it was a virus that they have never seen. Now it looks as if he is having circulation problems in his legs and feet. His leg and feet feel cooler then the rest of his body and are a purplish color some of the time. He has always been active and healthy. Thank You
From the history you have narrated, it seems that there is infection with impending sepsis. The feet are cold and there might be perfusion issues. Fever is just a symptom and there are multiple causes of it. Visit ER and get his evaluation and management be done by a senior specialist. Time being, he can be given paracetamol for fever with tepid sponging of the body.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
