Suggest Remedies For Pigmented Skin Around The Lips

Hi, I had a rash around my lips for 18years and now it has cleared up but I used a steroid cream which worked now left a dermatitis white little pigamintation around the lips and making me subconscious and keep am thinking about it Any solution to make is disappear

Hi Dear ,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have pigmented skin around the lips which is mainly due to hyper pigmentation due to excessive absorption of UV rays of skin and leading to perioral dermatitis.

I would suggest you to protect yourself from sun exposure and keep that area covered whenever expose to sun. You should use hydroquinone, steroid and retinoid based triple combination cream like skinlite. Don't let that area dry and keep applying aloe vera gel or petroleum jelly. Drink plenty of water. Consult dermatologist once to check if symptoms keeps on recurring and start treatment after proper examination.
