hi im 21 years old and i have been using kevon ketoconazole 2% as per my doctor suggetion since past one month and now i dont have dandruff but i have got pimples on my scalp where as i consulted doctor for both dandruff and pimples on the scalp, so here my question is how can i reduce pimples on my scalp..please reply me asap.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain the most common cause for pimples on the scalp seems to be due to hair follicle infection or Folliculitis caused due to Bacterial infection.. I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist and get evaluated and a clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of scraping from the pimples can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly.. In case of Folliculitis you can be advised to apply Antibiotic Ointment over the scalp.. Steroid ointment/lotion can also be advised.. A course of antibiotics orally can also be given.. Keep the scalp clean and dry.. Wash every alternate day..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
