Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What is the procedure to remove fluid from the lungs? I have finished a second round of antibiotics and still have pneumonia. The pneumonia is a result of a fall about 9 weeks ago when I broke three ribs; 2 of the 3 had additional fractures. Ribs and muscles have healed well but pneumonia appeared about 3-4 weeks ago. I had a CT scan today and I learned that draining the fluid might be an option but I can t seem to find out anything about the procedure. Thanks.
it appears to be pleural effusion it is tubercular antibody antigen reaction. aspiration of fluid is to be done and antitubercular treatment given for full course can be 4 drug regimen therapy like rifampicinethambutol isonex and pyrizinamide.with this treatment the patient will improve.
