Suggest Remedies For Recurring Bouts Of Cough Causing Vomiting

Hello. For the past month I have been coughing so hard at night it sometimes leads to vomiting. The coughing starts in the middle of the night. When I saw my DR. a few weeks ago he thought I had a or sinus infection that went into my lungs. He gave me antibiotics and it got better, but is now back again. I do have acid reflux and take meds for that. Thoughts about the cough?

HI
Welcome to HCM
As you are a patient of GERD and on medication I would recommend following to ease in symptoms
1. Have your dinner 3- 4 hours prior to the bed
2. Never have a heavy meal before going to bed
3. Use pillow to raise your head while sleeping at night
4. Avoid taking spicy food and drinks like tea coffe alcohol
5. Add food stuff like buttermilk curd to ease the acidity
6. Take Tablets PPI OD or BD according to need

As patients of GERD have acid reflux which irritates the throat and leads to chronic cough bouts and vomiting in few patients.

Hope it helped you
