Suggest Remedies For Recurring Itching On Elbow And Palms

I have a chronic itch predominantly on my left elbow, palm down, on top. There does not appear to be any rash, scaling or blotching. There is a node that has raised but doesn t seem to be directly related. The skin seems like it is not being naturally hydrated. It feels clammy. I have had skin cancer in the past but was superficial, non-spreading melanoma (right latisumus). This itch is seasonal and typically arises with lower humidity environments. Benadryl lotion is very temporary relief. I cannot take oral Benadryl due to being a heart patient. I get more relief from sunblock, but again is temporary. Anything would help, thanks. CTR

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to contact dermatitis.

I suggest using Loratadine 10 mg daily to relieve the itching.

I also suggest using Hydrocortisone cream for local application.

I also recommend to do the allergic tests to confirm the allergen.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
