Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a red rash on my face for years and it s become progressively worse. It feels like dry itchy patches of skin. The red bootches crap and the skin peels off like sun burn but when it does it also sometimes leaks clear liquid and still itches and then comes back as another red rashy blotch. I have pictures but don t know how to post them
Hi there Thank you for your question! This sounds like eczema to me but would need to see the rash to confirm, as many different skin conditions can present in a similar way. It may be an allergic type of eczema especially if you have other allergic conditions like asthma or runny nose/sneezing called allergic "rhinitis" and itchy eyes. You may get little blisters which start to weep when they open and then gets crusty. The rash may also develop an infection. I recommend you avoid trigger factors like sunlight, preservatives,perfume-based products, irritants like wool. It is best to have a doctor look at this rash and take a full history from you. You may need a steroid ointment and you would need a prescription for this. I hope this helps! All the best.
