Suggest Remedies For Red Spots On Upper Right Thigh

I have a rash on my right upper thigh. It s possible I was exposed to the urushiol oil working outside in the garden and yard but not sure. I had a little bit on the fore head, then on my stomach and the it broke out on my upper thigh. The forehead is cleared up, the stomach is cleared up but the thigh has two main spots the size of about a quarter and a bit that is red. I was initially putting a past of baking soda and vinegar on everything and the found zenfal. I started using zenfal 1.5 days ago. It has removed the itching for the most part, there are no more little blisters but the red spot is still prominent. I have had this spot on the thigh for a little over a week. I was wondering about how long I should expect it to remain?

Hi,

As per your complaint rash along with itching seems to be most probably due to an allergic reaction and if you are exposed to any new chemical then it can be related to it. For now as the symptoms are improving you can continue with the same, however, you can take anti-allergics like Benadryl or Levocetirizine and apply a steroid ointment like Betnovate to reduce inflammation and redness.

In case if it does not improve or recur I would suggest you consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly. The allergist can advise to oral anti-allergic as well as injectable steroids for relief. Do cool compresses. Application of calamine lotion can help in soothing the skin.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
