Suggest Remedies For Redness And Dryness Of The Skin

I m convinced I have roscea. I have had many people tell me that my face looks like I have it. I haven t been to the doctor yet for it, but I m clueless on what to use on my face to help with redness and dry skin. I found some Aquaphor Healing Ointment for a quick moisturizer. Is this something I should apply to my face? I do not want to have a reaction. I did however stop using my makeup along with face wash which was very abrasive. It has been 3 days since I ve last used those products.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As per your case history of dry skin, my treatment advice is -

1. Use a glycerine soap like dove or pears for regular use.

2. Apply an emollient cream like Enmoist cream twice daily on it.

3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine for itching. If the problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
