Suggest Remedies For Running Nose And Postnasal Drip

I have a thin, clear relatively constant flow of mucuous from my nose and also experience postnasal drip. My doctor prescribed Montelukast 10mg and I have used it for about 45 days now and it doesn t seem to help. I have chronic rhinitis as well. Are there any other generic drugs which might help me clear up these symptons. I also take Losartan - is this a possible side effect?

Persistent post nasal drip indicates increased mucous production. Common causes may be allergy, sinus infection, nasal polyp, rhinitis and deviated nasal septum. This cannot be due to losartan. Continue taking losartan.
Advice
1.     Levocetirizine 5 mg daily per oral for 7 days
2.     Cefixime 100 mg every 12 hours per oral for 7 days
3.     Ambroxol 30 mg daily per oral for 5 days
4.     Do gargle with slight warm salt water four times daily
5.     Do not eat heavily at a time. Eat smaller meals
6.     Do not lie down immediately after meal
7.     Avoid dust, smoking, alcohol, dry environment and spicy food
8.     Avoid coffee and tea after meal
9.     Investigation – X – ray PNS
10.     Consult an ENT specialist for general examination of your nasal passage & throat
