Suggest Remedies For Severe Abdominal Cramps When Diagnosed With Hypertension
I have hypertension and am a heavy alcohol drinker. Since last week, I have cut back tremendously on alcohol and am going some withdrawals. I drink maybe 2 litres of water a day to stay dehydrated. However since then, I constantly go to the bathroom (maybe 10 times a day) and am loosing a significant amount of weight (roughly 8 pounds in one week) I am also experiencing some cramping. I m not sure if I am doing the right thing or if something maybe wrong.
Congrats on trying to reduce alcohol intake, that is very commendable and would definitely help control your blood pressure and any other risk factors.
You should consider, however, seeing a doctor to help you through this process especially since you used a lot of alcohol according to the history given. The effects of withdrawal would be greater if a lot of alcohol was used or used for a long time.
In addition to the fluids, there are medications that can be given to reduce the withdrawal symptoms such as the cramping. Withdrawal symptoms can become severe in some persons.
It is not likely that your symptoms are due to another cause.
I hope this helps
