Hello,

Your daughter has a history of migraine. Now she has a stiff neck along with scratchy throat & severe headache.

It looks like she is having throat infection(Pharyngitis) with the infection spreading in the lymph nodes causing a lump.

However, neck lumps can be benign & harmless but sometimes they can be malignant.

Visit ER, get her physically examined & let blood, imaging tests & biopsy done to stay on the safer side & rule out any developing malignancy or meningitis.

Get her treated for throat infection, she needs a course of antibiotics & anti inflammatory medicines for relieve. In the meantime, let her do warm saline gargle 2-3 times a day.

Her treatment will depend upon the severity of the pathology detected. Migraines occur due to hormonal changes(menstruation), thyroid issues.

Allergy to certain food(cheese, salty food, processed food, oily junk food), avoid all these.

Psychological & emotional factors also trigger a migraine. Stay away from anxiety, stress, depression, excitement & shock.

Medications like NSAIDs, Triptans, analgesics, nerve pain medications, dietary supplements effectively control migraine.

Neck stiffness is commonly caused by a muscle strain or nerve pinch but it can occur due to lymph node infection, tumor, meningitis. Get her treated at the earliest.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
