Suggest Remedies For Severe Itching On The Arms, Legs And Scalp

For the last 2-3 weeks I have at different times of the day just start itching all over. My arms, my legs, my back, even my scalp. I don t know what could be causing this to happen. I relieve it by taking OTC Benedryl, but I have to take like 4-5 tabs at a time for it to work and I know this is to much. My question is, is there something else that I can take to relieve this problem. Or do I need to go see some type of specialist.

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have severe itching on the arms, legs and scalp . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like allergic reaction , tinea versicolor , rosacea , siede effect of certain medcine , impetigo and hormonal changes. Need not to worry much. you should avoid exposure to sunlight. I would suggest you to avoid any kind of cosmetic product , apply only petroleum jelly and take benadryl twice a day . You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may order allergy test, skin patch test and blood test to confirm the diagnosis. Doctor may order anti bacterial , corticosteroid ointment and anti fungal . Apply cold compresses to reduce redness and itchiness .
