Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain Due To Ruptured ACL

In 2012 I tore my ACL, having it repaired at that time. I now have a ruptured ACL, which I am having surgery in October (need to wait because of my personal schedule/self employed). i now must wear a knee brace all the time to ease the pain. I take tylenol arthritis first thing in the am, as well before bed. Along with taking Aleve during the day. Minimal relief, yet have a job that I m on my feet most of the day. I am icing it at night as well. Yet having trouble sleeping with every slight turn waking me. In 2012 my MCL was also torn and removed during surgery, with arthritis increasing in the same knee since a year ago when an xray was done. Do you have any suggestions how to lessen the pain in my knee while currently waiting for October to arrive?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to ruptured ACL.

For confirmation you may require MRI knee after orthopedician consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

You may require surgical intervention after consultation.

Use knee cap.

Use support while walking.

Avoid step up and down

Hope I have answered your query..
Let me know if I can assist you further.
