Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In Lower Back And Upper Legs
Thank you. I am writing for my husband who has pain across his lower back and in his upper legs. He did a lot of yard work yesterday . . . he is wondering if it could be a kidney stone although the last time he had one the symptoms were quite different. Thank you.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
The pain; due to kidney stone; would be either continuous pain at the site of kidney OR repetitive colic-like pain from the lumbar region (kidney region) to the lower abdomen.
The pain your husband has in lower back & upper legs. Seems to be due to overwork & exertion. Provided he does not have spinal issues.
It would be eased by rest/fomentation /massage with muscle relaxants/pain medicine over the counter like Ibuprofen. If no relief he should consult your family physician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
