Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In Right Shoulder After FNA Thyroid Biopsy Test

Hello i recently had a FNA Thyroid Biopsy on Monday and it is now several days later. Currently, I am experiencing extreme pain in my right shoulder; which is in close proximity to where the procedure was performed. What can I do to alleviate this pain? I can not bend my arm.

Hello,

It is very important to let your doctor know as soon as possible that you have developed this pain close to the area where the FNA thyroid biopsy test was performed.

This is to rule out any important complications of the procedure. There are many structures in the close proximity of the thyroid that can be easily affected during the procedure and we need to make sure that this is not the case.

Meanwhile, you may take Ibuprofen 800 mg every 8 hours after food and use cold local compresses to relieve the pain.
