Suggest Remedies For Severe Pain In The Calf Despite Taking Opioids

Please help me find a way(s) to reduce the pain down through my right calf. I d like to sleep at night rather than walk. It starts at the knee and goes through the calf muscle down to the foot. It feels like the Charlie s horse that won t let go, but keeps getting tigher and tighter. I have some starting exercises from the PTafter L5/S1 fusion 3 wks ago. The pain is getting worse and got me a return trip to the hospital for a few extra days. I am already on an opioid painkiller every4 hours, muscle relaxant every 8, and on day 4 of 6 oral steroids. I need a better plan and so does my stomach. Thank you for reading my book.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Consult a general surgeon and evaluated. An ultrasound scan is required to rule out conditions like peripheral vascular disease and DVT which can also present with similar symptoms.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
