Suggest Remedies For Severe Sunburn On Nose

My son got severely sunburned on his nose about 4 days ago. It peeled and he picked at it, and now it s scabbed and red and even black in some places. He has ADHD and seems to be unable to stop himself from picking at the scabs. I m wondering what treatment I should use to help the scabs heal and to stop him from picking at the scabs.

Hello,

Normally vaseline ointment is enough to keep the scabs soft so he does not pick on them and also will help the burn wound heal better. If you think the wound is red and has yellow scabs on it, it may be needed to use an antibiotic cream such as fusidic acid or mupirocin 3-4 times a day.

If the wound is not getting better in the next few days or you think it is getting worse, he needs to be seen by a doctor.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
