Suggest Remedies For Sharp Dull Pain Behind The Head Post A Sprain

about a month ago, it appears that my husband pulled a ligament on the right side of the neck, he has headaches with dull and sharp pains in the back of his head, went to a PA he said it was a crank, and give him ibuprofen 800m to take 3 times a day, that does not ease his pain and ha, then he went last week to the Dr. he give him a shot in his neck, back of his head feels swollen, and did not tell him what else to do, he said he had a pulled muscle in the back of his head.. should he have been xrayed?, no relief continuously on tramadol and ibuprofen

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would recommend your husband to see a physiotherapist. In this case, the physiotherapist may help the hurting muscles to relax, thus relieve the pain and also will give exercises to strengthen the neck and back muscles and prevent further damage of the tendons and muscles.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
