Hi, I am a 47yr old female with unusually sharp lower abdominal pain. Trying to determine if it s ovulatory or appendix related. Appendicitis runs in my family. There is minimal rebound pain. No fever or vomiting. Loss of appetite present. Symptoms have run for about the last 12 hrs.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. It is difficult to diagnose your condition just by clinical signs alone. Ultrasound examination is must to rule out appendicitis or other possible pathology. So better to go for ultrasound examination of abdomen and pelvis.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
