Suggest Remedies For Sinus Drainage, Cough And Vomiting In An Infant
My toddler brought home a cold from daycare and it got passed around. The last in line is now our 3 month old. He is experiencing a lot of sinus drainage especially when laying down. This is obviously causing him to cough. When he starts coughing he vomits. So far no fever, he s eating well and is mostly in good spirits. Any suggestions on helping him?
At 3 months, oral medications are not recommended unless really needed. If he was not eating well or inactive, then oral medication would be suggested.
Since this is not the case, it may be best for you to consider the use of normal saline drops or spray to the nostril to reduce the drainage, these are over the counter and safe to use.
There are also drops that can be placed on his mattress to help clear his nostrils.
If he is still having problems, you may want to consider bringing the car seat inside and letting him sleep propped up till he feels better.
I hope this helps
