Suggest Remedies For Sore Nipples With Red Bumps Around Them

My 11 year old daughter just joined the swim team at school. After her 2 hour practice today she came home and her nipples were very sore and had bumps all around them that were red. She has been going through puberty for awhile though and I can only assume that this happened from her swimsuit rubbing back and forth while she swam. What do you think? Is there anything I can do to help this not happen to her again?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It seems like an allergic reaction to a substance found in a swimsuit.

She may change swimwear and wash area and dry it properly.

She can take cetirizine to help improve itching and rush.

Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
